THAT TIME OF YEAR again...SEMA 2011

Ever since i started Galpin Auto Sports almost 3 years ago, I ve gotten the opportunity to contribute my design and rendering skills to help G.A.S. out do themselves each SEMA show ....We are a custom shop that strives for progression and being on the forefront of trends in the custom/ aftermarket culture. This year   is no different, I believe we have once again stepped it up a level, especially with 18 cars going this year!

XGAMES 17 charity hood.

The Concept

The Final Product

Luis's Sick Airbrush Skills

Hung up in Xgames booth For many to see

Interviewed about the concept of the hood.

Bryan Deegan: one of many athletes to sign the hood

I literally chased down Ryan sheckler to have him sign our hood

The hood became an attraction at the auction, serving as a nice backdrop for photos :)

Luis and I awkward handshake for a job well done...look at all the athletes that stepped up :)

At the end of July GAS was commissioned to create a custom painted hood that would be auctioned off at the commencement of XGAMES 17...We only had a week total for the project, 2 of those days for design and the rest for painting...Luis (GAS painter) and I were definitely tested when it came to creating on the spot...For both of us had already alot on our plate at the the time. All i can say, that it was fun collaborating with Luis both bringing our own unique styles together to create one nice piece of art!

SPX Charity Mustang Built by G.A.S.

GAS has teamed up with specialty manufacturer SPX to create a one-off widebody Mustang that will be sold for charity at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson classic car auction in Scottsdale, AZ. With styling inspired by the 1969 Mustang Boss 429, the exterior will feature a hand-built steel widebody kit painted in Candy Apple Red Pearl PPG paint. Under the hood, the 5.0L V8 has been fitted with a Ford Racing supercharger and numerous other upgrades to produce 700 horsepower. Other modifications include Wilwood brakes front and rear, Forgiato three-piece wheels, an electronically-controlled exhaust cutout system and an original 1969 Boss 429 hood scoop.
Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit St. Jude Hospital to help the fight against cancer.
Seeing the build of this car thus far, all i can is that its going to look AMAZING! Im glad that i got to contribute in this project :)

TS Designs SEMA 2011 Wide Body 5.0 Mustang

This past Saturday, I got the opportunity to do a rendering for Topo (LA's Wide Body King) of TS designs for his SEMA build. An all steel wide body 2010 Ford Mustang featuring a trufiber hood with 3d carbon boy racer kit. The car will also be sporting 3piece Forgiato Martello rims...22's all around with the rear wheels rolling with a 9" lip! Looking forward to seeing this beast at SEMA.

HONDA DEL "SQUID"

Looking through my hard drive i came across this little project that i remember being one of my favorite artsy collaborative projects. A customer at GAS wanted to have a giant squid painted on the side of their Honda Del Sol. Why you ask?....Why not?. It was left up to me and Luis (GAS painter) to execute this project...I got to design the layout of the squid as well as pick the color choice for the sea creature. Luis then translated my photoshop style with his paint/airbrush style  to really make this car pop....  here's the process..

Fifteen52 TARMAC Wheel contest

Early June, a buddy of mine sent me a link that was a competition for a free set of wheels on Fifteen52 FB fan page. Basically, It was a contest which entailed photochoping the company's wheels on cars of your choice (creativity was up to you) Whoever has the most likes (or friends) will win a free set of TARMAC wheels.. With over 300 entries it definitely made sticking out pretty difficult.. Seeing that i dont stand a chance thought i just share my submissions....

Exagerrat'n again.... (2011)

These past couple of months have been pretty hectic with trying to balance personal life, full time work at GAS, Freelance design projects, and soon school which will be added into the mix this upcoming summer.... Im hoping that all this will not hinder me from doing these fun freelance car caricatures for people and just design work in general.......My most recent caricature was done for Glen In NorCal of his Supercharged GS400......Another satisfied customer :)

More Exaggeration....

I'm not complaining, being  in a job that requires being precise or detailed as much as possible can be a dulling task at times....Caricatures let me temporarily escape the grip of having to be on point all the time....no rules
